The event consists of three different races: the 5K Run, the 5K Sup, and the 5K Sup & 5K Run. The first activity is a family-friendly dash around the park’s 400 acre lake. Feel free to run or walk, and all skill levels are welcome. Second, the 5K Sup is a paddle board race on the lake itself. The event welcomes homemade paddle boards and also offers rentals. Beginners and advanced boarders are all invited to join in. The same goes for the 5K Sup & 5K Run. This daring race combines both land and water into one exciting challenge. Prepare for an early wake-up call, because all the competitions begin at 8:00 AM.

Beyond races, the SUP & RUN 5K includes concessions, prizes and a post-race party. Come expecting to fill your belly with barbecue pulled pork, Jay’s Hot Dogs, and Smoothie King. The post-race party includes the Ladies of the Libation Lounge, as well as some awesome music by DJ JB Baxter and Emcee Edwin Robinson. Plus, proceeds will go to Operation Second Chance, which supports wounded veterans.

So put on your running gear, grab a wet suit, pack up the family, and enjoy the perfect springtime Saturday.
